Kevin and I have been going back and forth for a while now about whether or not we were ready to cut Nolan's hair. When out in public we often received comments from strangers about his blond hair and curls and we also loved his curls. However, recently Nolan started pushing his hair out of his eyes with a frustrated look on his face and the back began brushing his shoulders. I have been hesitant because I have been realizing more and more each day that Nolan is quickly becoming my little boy and not my little baby. Cutting his hair I knew would make him look even more like a little boy. I was also afraid that after we cut it his lovely curls would not return. But this weekend we decided that it was finally time...ready or not! I did not trust myself to cut Nolan's hair so we took him to Cookie Cutters, a place that specializes in cutting children's hair. It was close and several of our co-workers recommended it to us.
Below you will find a few before pictures, pictures taken during the cut, and of course some after pictures. By looking at the pictures you would think that the experience was a pretty easy one, however the pictures do not tell the whole story...it was an extremely stressful and emotional experience. I did not end up crying (both Kevin and I were prepared for me to cry) because I had to concentrate my attention on calming Nolan down. He did not like the stylist messing with his hair and he screamed a lot of the time. Kevin and I had to take turns holding his head still and trying to distract/entertain him so the stylist could finish the job. In the end the job was finished and Nolan received his "boon" (balloon) and everyone was happy! :)
